The House assembled at 11.00 a.m. of Tuesday, the 15th March, 2005 in the Assembly Hall with the Hon’ble Speaker, Shri T.N. Haokip in the Chair.

MEMBERS PRESENT:           

            Hon’ble Chief Minister, 10 Cabinet Ministers, Chairman (Hill Areas Committee),  1 Minister of State and 46 Elected Members. 

ADDRESS BY THE GOVERNOR: 

            Dr. Shivinder Singh Sidhu, His Excellency, the Governor of Manipur addressed the Manipur Legislative Assembly. 

MOTION OF THANKS: 

            Shri C. Doungel, MLA moved the Motion of Thanks to the Governor’s Address and Shri Th. Tomba Singh, MLA seconded the motion. 

OBITUARY REFERENCE: 

            The Speaker, Manipur Legislative Assembly moved a resolution on obituary reference on the loss of lives by the Tsunami on 26th December, 2004 and on the demise of Shri P.V. Narsimha Rao, former Prime Minister of India and Shri T. Gunadhwaja Singh, former Member of the Manipur Legislative Assembly. 

            Shri B.D. Behring, MLA, Shri Ningthoujam Biren, MLA, Shri N. Mangi Singh, Minister (Commerce & Industries), Shri I. Hemochandra Singh, MLA and Shri O. Ibobi Singh, Chief Minister participated in the obituary reference.  

            The following resolution was adopted by the House:-               

                        “That, this House expresses its deep and profound sorrow at the loss of many lives under the killer Tsunami wave and earthquake on 26th December, 2004 and also on the sad demise of Shri P.V. Narsimha  Rao, former Prime Minister of India and Shri T. Gunadhwaja Singh, former Member of the Manipur Legislative Assembly.           

And, that the Members of the House observe two minutes silence by standing to pray to the Almighty God for the eternal peace of the departed souls.”

            The House observed two minutes silence in respect of the departed souls. 

PRESENTATION OF COMMITTEE REPORT: 

            Shri O. Ibobi Singh, Chief Minister presented the Twelfth Report of the Business Advisory Committee, 2005 and also moved:           

            “that this House agrees with the allocation of time proposed by the Committee”. 

The House adopted the Report of the Committee.

            Hon’ble Speaker Shri T.N. Haokip adjourned the House at 1.00 p.m till 11 A.M. of  Wednesday, the 16th March, 2005.
