This publication contains a brief information of the business transacted during the Ninth Session of the Eighth Manipur Legislative Assembly held from 17th December, 2004 to 23rd December, 2004.

RESUME OF WORK DONE DURING THE NINTH SESSION

SESSION OF THE ASSEMBLY

(1) The Ninth Session of the Eighth Manipur Legislative Assembly commenced on 17th December, 2004 and adjourned sine die on 23rd December, 2004. Five sittings were held

OBITUARY REFERENCE

(2) On December 17, 2004 obituary references were made in the House on the demise of Shri Telem Bira Singh and Shri T.P. Kuilengpao, former Members of the Manipur Legislative Assembly and Shri Ningombam Raghumani Singh, former Secretary of the Manipur Legislative Assembly. The House observed 2(two) minutes’ silence to show respect to the departed souls.

FINANCIAL BUSINESS

(10) On December 17, 2004, Finance Minister presented the Supplementary Demands for Grants, 2004-2005. General Discussion and Discussion and Voting on Demands for Grants, 2004-2005 were held on 20-12-2004 and voted on the same day.

ELECTION OF FINANCIAL COMMITTEE

(11) On December 23, 2004 the Hon’ble Speaker announced the list of the Members elected to the three Financial Committees (Appendix-III).

PRIVATE MEMBERS’ RESOLUTION

(12) During the session, four Private Members’ Resolutions were received. Out of which one Resolution was discussed and voted down. Two Resolutions were discussed but withdrawn with the leave of the House and the last resolution was not taken up due to absence of the mover (Appendix-IV).

ADMISSION TO GALLERIES

(13) Seven hundred and eighty one visiting cards were issued for admission to Press, Officers and Visitors’ Galleries.
