Whereas this Assembly adopted the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 (Act No.6 of 1974) in the State of Manipur vide Resolution No.36 in its sitting held on December, 28, 1987;

Whereas the Parliament, In pursuance of clause (1) of Article 252 of the Constitution, passed the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Amendment Act, 1988 amending the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974;

Whereas the above said amendment Act, 1988 applies to the first instance to a whole of States of Himachal Pradesh and Tripura and it is applicable to other States which adopts the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act. 1974 by resolution passed in that behalf by the Assembly under clause (1) of Article 252 of the Constitution;

And whereas it appears to this Assembly to be desirable that the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Amendment Act, 1988 should be adopted in the state of Manipur.

Now, therefore, in pursuance of clause (1) of Article 252 of the Constitution, this Assembly hereby resolves that the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Amendment Act, 1988 be adopted in the State of Manipur. “
